Baked Herby Feta and Tomatoes

baked feta

Baked Herb Feta and Tomatoes recipe! This appetizer is so simple but so full of wow, because who thinks about putting feta in the oven to get it all hot and melty?

Feta is a very strong cheese so a couple of bites will do, you won’t feel like you could eat the whole square. Enjoy!

Ingredients

Units Scale

3/4 inch slab of firm feta

1 pint cherry tomatoes, sliced

1/4 teaspoon chili flakes

1/2 teaspoon dried oregano

2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil

whole grain pita and/or vegetable sticks

1 lemon, cut into wedges

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Put the feta in an ovenproof dish (that you can serve the feta in). Scatter the tomatoes around the feta. Drizzle them both with a tablespoon of olive oil, chili flakes, and oregano.
  2. Cover the feta and tomatoes loosely with tin foil. Bake until both are softened, but the feta is not melted, about 15 minutes.
  3. Unwrap the foil and drizzle with a little more olive oil. Squeeze the lemon and serve with the whole grain pita and vegetables.
